Yana Joue is a contemporary jewelry practice by designer Miriam Awada.

I've been making jewelry for years, but the part I still love most is that every piece begins the same way: with an idea I want to explore. I work primarily with 925 sterling silver and 18k gold using the lost-wax casting method, carving each piece by hand before it is cast. The small imperfections that come with making things this way are part of what I love most. They remind us that a person made this.

Yana Joue wasn't the beginning. It was a new chapter.

Before the rebrand, I'd already been developing collections and creating bespoke pieces through an intuitive, hands-on practice. Over time, the work started to shift, becoming lighter, more colorful, and more open to experimentation.

Around the same time, life shifted too.

The arrival of my daughter Yana reminded me of something that's easy to forget as adults: curiosity is worth protecting. The name became a reflection of that spirit. Not a brand about childhood, but a reminder to leave room for play, wonder, and the occasional beautiful accident.

Color finds its way into much of my work through precious and semi-precious stones. Some combinations are subtle. Others make absolutely no sense on paper and somehow end up becoming favorites.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. I wouldn't want them to be.

The result is jewelry designed to be worn often, gifted thoughtfully, collected over time, and kept for a very long while.
